installing struts

I have a 1995 protege, and like to replace both rear struts, do I need a spring compressor and modified tools for this job? My est. from the dealer or indendant serice shops on replacing them are about $300-$430, what do you think is it easy to do it myself?
Thanks.

yeah your gonna need spring compressors to do it, i tried once with out it, and almost got killed from the spring, lol, uhhhhh basic hand tools, with maybe a breaker bar here and there will be fine, unless you have some nice air tools, which are what i recomend, its not too too hard to do, just time consuming.

Replacing struts

Hey thanks for the quick reply, I will probably have it done by an independant auto service to install the struts.

please make sure to post questions in the appropriate section. This needed to be in 2nd gen suspension. NOT member review forum.
