It sure does. Even before I lowered my car and put on wider tires, there was a noticable difference. I tell you, it is the cheapest and one of the best ways to improve the car's handling.

wow! in that case i'm definitely getting one. what about a rear one? i've seen one and it looks hard to install. where does it install on the car?

Also, don't overlook the importance of getting a rear strut brace. I have one in my 95 civic sedan and it really just holds the car dead flat in a turn. I swear my civic will turn higher G's than the MP3 or MSP. And yes, I've owned an MSP so I'm not just shooting off at the mouth!!

Yeah, rear strut is important, and I only know of Bruce as the only person that did it. It installs in the trunk, behind the seats, and you need to dremel your way through sheetmetal in order to get to the mounting bolts.

hey turbonium, are those strut braces pretty stiff cuz i know alot of people that have bent there bars before and i dont wanna get a cheap.

turbonium959 November-10th-2003 12:03 PM

I never heard of bending the strut bar, and mine is still holding up like there is no tomorrow. I see that you have an LX, so you might have cruise control. For that feature you might need to modify the mounting bracket, or buy one on eBAY that is already premade. I think it looks like this:http://images.andale.com/f2/106/103/...8PGESRTUTF.jpg Do you see a notch on the left mounting bracket? Thats where cruise control mounting interfears with installation. So if you get this exact one, you will have no problem. Goodluck.

At the nopi site they have two strut braces for my year, but i don't know why there are two different part #'s. does anyone know which of the two is for my '96 LX? and why are some really expensive compared to others? i've seen some that cost like 200 dollars and yet the ractive one is 35. why the discrepency? thanks.

$200 one is Mazdaspeed part. Its perhaps better then generic ones sold on EBAY, but you have to be a professional race driver to tell the difference betweem the two.

boricua December-5th-2003 05:58 PM

are you kidding me? it costs that much extra just cuz its a mazdaspeed part? thats insane!!
