bg springs versus intrax springs

ok For those that have seen pics of both on my protege, I am considering to install my intrax springs that i have back on the car, The reason being is that I feal that the car sat a bit lower than the bg springs ,, it is either this or purchase yet another set of springs in an effort to get the look that I want, I am really starting to think that the springs that I have are not the extremes, or if they are maybe they are not lowering like the company claims, wich in there case is misadvertising

no more coilovers , heck no ,,, i am not blowing a set of 700 dollar struts ... I think I will just leave the bg's on if I don't find a better spring

the thing I don't like about the coils is that they take away the amount of travel that your shocks have ,, so you end up bottoming out on big bumps or beating the shocks until they do bottom out ,.. With regular springs they give your suspension more travel , and the key is to have your car low , yet still have enough suspension travel to deal with the rough road

And hence the reason that NO protege should be lowered more than about 1.5", if that.

You could go lower, but youre looking at $250 per strut to get them shortened...and thats over and above the price to get them revalved.

didn't Will lower his car 2" with the Sprint springs ???
I was thinking about doing the same thing in the future, but after reading the above it doesn't seem like that good of an ideia...
am I right ???

You are correct sir. Proteges have very limited suspension travel, especially up front. And do you mean Wil (GroHarlem) or Will Kalman...as in the guy that i mentioned earlier?

GroHarlem is WIL only 1 "L" at the end of his name.

I meant Wil (groharlem).............typing fast usually causes me to spell words (and names) wrong.....

so lowering my pro more than 1.5" is a no-no ?

So what brand of lowering springs would be good for a Gen 2 pro??? I really need to know as well because I was just about to purchase some intrax springs last week when i decided to talk to you guys to make sure i was doing the right thing. So... whats a good brand that will drop me more than an inch?

what is the deal with the proteges...is it the springs or the car that is making the uneven drop??.....i wanna get springs until my jic's get ordered....but the intrax are a lil bit more than 1.5"...so this will be bad for the sturts???...and what about the h&r's being higher in the front...is the eibach drop on the gen 3 uneven also??....i need to get springs sooon....someone help me!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well the intrax lower the car 1.8 inches , and they are pretty good springs , although the front of your car will hit bumps pretty ruff to be honest, there handling is pretty good and for the money they are a good spring .
As for the BG springs they are supposed to lower my protege about 2.0 inches , but I really don't think that it did this .. as when I look at my car it does not look at it , but when you look at a factory height protege you can really see the difference and it makes you kinda think that maybe it did lower the car by this much ..
