I would be interseted, but I know that Z5 engine is weak as all hell, and I do not feel like blowing it up. I am not as skeptical about Stage 1, because it does not require a FMIC, but for further stages, I doubt FMIC will fit, and the engine will take all that pressure without a failure. I am glad that there is a test bed car, I just want to see what the results are. Thanks.

However, is the header available now? And what about the cat-back exhaust? Thanks.

i've heard they are a great company.... i've heard the 1.5 is actually a good engine... just doesnt put out much power... i'm sure with proper tuning that kit would work.... kdawg is usually their "customer" but in this case i would like ot know who is

KDawgONE February-26th-2004 12:23 PM

Clappy/Tim is the testbed for the 1.5....im the testbed for the 1.8 products

I guess that depends on who you ask...

Look at the ES kit for the Accent, thats only a 1.6 and it puts out pretty good numbers...

jon-0 March-14th-2004 11:07 AM

do they make turbo's for 1.6L?

protegeboy78 March-14th-2004 11:32 AM

doesn't the miata have a 1.6? if it does i'm sure there is one for that engine

But that 1.6L is Huyndai engine, and I do not think it is even remotely close to BP 1.6L.

I don't know if the engine would crumble with FI, but I constantly beat the hell out of my engine (4K+ RPM's in 1st and 2nd each acceleration) and it hasn't even made a peep.

The Miata 1990-1993 had the B6, but the turbo kits would be different.

Was there ever an update for this? I have a friend with a z5pro and we put over 100 hours into this car allready. Im sure hes intrested in a "kit" too, because this would save us plenty of Machining and Fab.

Is there any more 411 on this? Flange type, price range? Because I really dont want anything bigger than a t25 on her seeing that it would take 2 weeks just to spool up on a reg basis driver car.

The Z5 has the B6 bottom end, weak crank keyway and all.

The only difference between a B6 and the Z5 is the head and accessories (intake manifold/exhaust manifold).

That crank was improved upon in 1991.5
