Need an answer pretty quick please.

My 97 1.8l needs an O2 sensor. The diagnostic sheet said "heated" O2 sensor. That would be the one in the exhaust manifold would it not??

Thanks

I guess so. Not sure but if you need to buy some O2 sensors I found this website this mornin'

Heated O2 sensors are just give a signal earlier than non-heated ones. Most all of the new cars use them including 2nd gen proteges. Before an O2 sensor can gives a signal, it has to be at a certain temperature (this determines the proximity of the O2 sensor to the engine as exhaust gases heat the sensor). But if you are using heated ones, the minute you put a current through the heater part of the sensor (ie. turn on your car), it warms up------->and gives a signal almost instantly allowing the ECU to process it. Without this instant signal, the ECU "guesses" values for the O2 sensor and since it knows that because the sensor isn't giving a signal it must be cold, it compensates by idling at a higher RPM...
Lengthy..sorry...;peace;
