Where is the best (cheapest) place to get a master cylinder for a 95 automatic? Let me rephrase my question :) where is the best place to get parts for proteges cheap? :)

For new, the dealership ($$$) is a sure place. You could also try Autozone and other parts store in your town.

Why are u looking for a new master cylinder? An old one will work fine if you are just replacing a damaged one. That's what i did when mine started leaking. Cost me like $7 (or less) from the local junkyard.

speaking from a first genner's perspective, it's sometimes hard to nearly impossible to find used parts for our cars in junkyards, let alone newer model protege's. but look for junkyard parts first, cause most likely that part will be still intact and close to $50 bucks cheaper than dealership or any parts store. i think your best deal is to contact (though i personally won't deal with them) mazdarecycling.com and see what they have. pepboys or autozone might also carry them, but most likely their parts supplier is actually your dealership. wish you lived around here cause i know of an autoparts place that catalogs and orders from over 750 different aftermarket manufacturers, and most likely could get a master cylinder for you alot cheaper than dealership, but your best bet is to contact your dealership unless someone on here knows of a better place. also, do you have anti-lock brakes or not?

Try finding a 97 a/c compressor at a junkyard for 1.5 L DOHC. I called every place in the yellowpages. Shop around too. Places were selling them for 300, i got mine for 80. Just flip through the yellowpages.

That is a great site I wish I didnt pay so much for my alternator now that I see this site. I will definetly be using this in the near future.
