Love my Protege...but

I am a disabled person and have to sell this protege sedan whether I want too or not. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my hip and spine and this 5-speed is not practical anymore. I must find a vehicle that is automatic and a little more comfortable with working A/C and that will be as reliable as my protege has been. I will truely miss this lil' car and the gas mileage as well as the reliability of this vehicle.

You can alway pick up a 3rd gen 2003 Protege with an automatic. Should have everything your old car had, and most likely wont break the bank.

Well one problem if you had bothered to read. I am a disabled person on a limited monthly income.

You didn't mention that at all O_o

No need to snap back, I was just being optimistic... wow.

P.S. Welcome to the site

are you considering staying within the brand or are you looking for something with a little better ingress and egress yet still cheap?

The best thing about buying a Mazda (used) is that the resell value on them is not as high as Toyota or Honda, so if you're shopping used, better deals can be had.

I didnt mean to snap, I have way to much on my mind lately. Let me explain the entire thing. I live on a very fixed monthly income and so does my caregiver. We are both terminally ill and he can't help me financially to get a vehicle. He has a 1992 Camry-XLE Sedan, with 141k on it, and I really liked that car and it was a find, except his mother had to help him to get that vehicle. I on the other hand do not have that kind of help. I live on just over $600/mo and most of my money helps pay the bills we have, so everything would hinge on the sell of my Protege (moneywise). My protege has been a Godsend and has been a great car and very gas consious and that is good for folks on limited funds. However this car is getting harder and harder to drive for me shifting gears with the arthritis I now also have in my hips and lower spine. I don't know what I am going to do now and I am also working on getting CV-Joints fixed in my Protege as well, other than that this car was well maintainted but I have not been able to get them done right now, But I have some folks that are woking on helping me to get them fixed to sell the vehicle. I must have a vehicle to get me to doctors appointments, grocery store and my 12 step meetings and related functions etc. I have also been diagnosed with the start of emphseyma/COPD so I must have a vehicle that has working A/C as well and must be automatic and reliable. So there is the whole sorted and sad story.
