Guage Cluster Swap

I was wondering if a 95 cluster is compatible in a 96 lx. I ruined my gas and temp guages playing around with them when I was figuring out how to put on my reverse guages. (big surprise) Also, should I just have the reverse guages installed professionally?

Go to clubprotege>howto
There was one about how to do it. You can take speedometer and tachometer needles out, that's what I did and install those ones. Than you'll have to cut a line on gas and temp reverse gauge, so you'll be able to slide it under the needle. No way to take those ones out.

Yea, im not sure what i'm gonna do though, depending on how much it costs, I may just have someone else do it so I don't screw up another cluster again. I just won a whole instrument cluster on ebay from a 95 pro for like 14$, and im hoping it will fit in my 96.

Taht's not hard at all. Just don't ever try to take those two needles out. Or just cut them a bit to fit without taking needles out.
Good luck.

Yes, the cluster will fit.
If for some reason it doesnt, you can go to the dealer and buy ONLY the gauge with the temp/gas on it....dont let them tell you you cant. I did. It cost me about $70CDN, though i had to wait a bit as it came from mazda japan.
