Is this a good car??
I have decided that I need a different car for when I go back to school at KU. Does this Protege have a good variety of aftermarket support and parts? Or should I stick with my car and forget the whole protege idea?? I need help really bad. Also what is the difference between the 95-98's and the 99-01's?? I need as much help as I can get... please thank you...

95-98 is mostly custom work. not too much aftermarket support. the 99-01 is a little better in that department. search the forum.

sup guys, sorry ive been off for a while, the reason the hp looks so high is because i dynoed on a dyno-jet (a dyno where you take the wheels off and dyno the wheels in a box which measures instead of a chassis dyno). These dyno's are known to give you more than you would have on a chassis dyno due to the fact that there is no loss of power from the wheels being on.

If you want aftermarket parts go with the 99+ Protege. You'll find close to nothing for the 2nd Gens. Everything is mostly custom work = a lot of $$$.

I find it hard to believe you got that high hp with the mods you made to the car. I was at a dyno day at B&T motorsports and people were getting lower numbers than expected. Didn't hear from ya so I was even more sceptical. |
