Door open light is always on

My door open light is always on, and think that there is a short in it somewhere, but if anyone could tell me something else that it could be please let me know. Also, if I can't find the short (if thats what it is) then could I take out the light/led for the door open indicator.

Thanks.

I have the passenger side door panel removed cause i am molding it for my componet system. Would the light come on because of that.

Thanks, again.

Remove your door pin switches and see if the light goes off, if not remove the trunk pin. If you remove all the pins and the light is still on you have a short somewhere. Also check the position of the switch on the dome light it self. There are three positions off, door, on. Then check the dome light to make sure it is not grounded to metal in the roof. If you are not the oiginal owner, some one may have had and alarm in the car and removed it. We see this alot. The installer doesn't take the time to cap off the door line, and it ground out leaving the dome light on. Hopefully it is a bad pin switch, they are cheaply built and cheap to replace.

as far as i knew the trunk wasnt related to the door open light on the 2nd gen protege...i took out all the buttons that get pushed in to tell if the doors are open and unhooked em...light stayed on...im completely lost on how to fix this problem....
