body kit question

this is for people that have a erebuni body kit the 924 style. How much did it cost to get it painted and get it put on?How long did it take the shop?

Cost me $400 for all 4 pieces. I might be able to find the card of the guy I had do it. It was around 2 years ago but its a shop, they're still in business at ~54th S. Western Ave. It's a bunch of Mexicans but they matched the paint perfect and did it cheaper than the $600 I was being quoted at other places (like Metal Masters / Carstar of Oak Lawn/Chicago Ridge.)

I installed it myself. Required a few trips to Home Depot for ladder rails and bolts, fasteners, new wheelwell clips, a mudguard incarnation of my own design for the rear bumper to prevent roadcrap from flying out of the wheelwells, exc.

I'd say it took 10 hours from start to finish to get everything on right, that included underground lighting which I embedded into the side rockers during installation. Installation also involved a great deal of temp-epoxy. The Erubuni front cover was installed with the front reinforcement on (the REAR reinforcement 'REBAR' had to be removed, the cover simply wouldn't fit over it, so if I get hit from the back, I will probably have frame damage.) Epoxy was needed to prevent a flaw in the front cover from existing. It slides horizontally (sways) when you turn left and right, because there is no other way to secure the center, only the sides. Sure, you secure it through the botton by drilling mounts behind your radiator or into the cross member (I used existing holes left from the plastic engine water covers under the car) but it will still sway on the top, especially if you leave the REBAR on.

When you stopped to go to home depo to get supplies to put it on yourself, what did you need to get? So that it wouldnt swing and fit nice and tight.
