1998 LX - US to Canadian Daytime headlights
What is involved in switching a 1998 or 1999 LX Protege from the US to Canadian safety standards, in particular the Daytime running lights? I get the hint that it may be a simply module that plugs into a wiring harness underneath the leftside dashboard but would like confirmation from someone who has actually gone through this!
Also - is there anything else besides the headlights that needs to be changed? Thanks in advance. |
First off, 1998 and 1999 is not the same model year. Also, I am not aware of Canadian regulations, but I don't think US models came with daytime running lights. Hopefully, some Canadian folks around here can help out.

1998 versus 1999 Protege
I realize 1998 and 1999 were separate model years - I'm interested in knowing if there are any differences between them too (as far as electrical system for the headlights are concerned).

Thanks for the info. So 1999 was the switchover year to 3rd gen. (strange, I thought it was 2001 but oh well...) Back to the 1998 LX - does ANYONE know how they would switch over the headlight system to Daylight running lights versus the US standard?
