Turbo's

Hi,

Hoping you guys can help I live in the UK and own a 1.8 Mazda 323F/Astina which has the same engine and chassis as your 2nd Protege (so i belive) and am planning on turbo'in it. I have found a kit here at turbo-kits.com and was wondering if anyone has bought one or fitted one?

If you have are they any good?

Cheers
Craig

Well, it matters on the motor you have. Our 2nd gen has the BP motor which isn't compatible with that turbokit. the 1.8l and the 2.0l are for the 3rd gen protege. The 1.6l, I'm really not sure bout that but I am sure that the turbokit won't fit on your 1.8l.

Ohh, the web site says "90 - 02 Mazda Protege Turbo Kits" so i assumed that that covered the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gens?

My 1.8 is the same as the 2nd gen 1.8

They are incorrect.
Thats for the FP-DE
We've got the BP.
You're better off finding a turbo manifold from a 323GTX or GTR and then piecing together something custom.
Essential speed is developing a turbo kit for our cars but it might not be economical for you since it would be shipped from Canada to the U.K.

Gutting :(

I am not to worried about the cost of importing so any availible kits I will look at buying. Any ideas when essential speed is likely to finish the kit?

If i can get hold of a GTX/GTR will most of the parts be transferable? I am guessing the piping will be different lengths but what about the rest?

Cheers
Craig
