Transmission Problem?

I have a 95, automatic and Im having a bit of a problem.
I was driving hom from tucson one night (about 100 miles), I made a turn and my CV-Joint (i think) broke. The engine would no longer push the car forward.
I know that the CV joint on the passanger side wasent in that great of shape. The car rolls even if I put it in park.

Would this just be a broken CV-Joint or would it be my whole transmission? Im pretty sure that only one cv-joint broke, but im not posotive.

Any comments are appreciated, thanks.

get a new axle... you better be glad it didn't tear up other stuff... when you hear weird noises coming from your car, you fix it or it becomes expensive! if you knew about it being bad before, you should have fixed it

I was going to get it fixed, but it wasent really doing anything, For like a week it made a little bit of noise, that was like 3 weeks ago, but it stopped, and on this trip i didnt get any noises or feelings that it was going to break, it just did all of a sudden.

"it made a little bit of noise"

like I said ANYTIME you hear something, you get it fixed! I guess you want to wait for BOOM BOOM BOOM huge banging noises before you want to do something
