Timing Belt Question
I'm trying to order a new timing belt online and am faced with choosing between two chasis codes? The car isn't handy to take a look so I was wondering if there was a date or something that certain codes came after. The belts either go to code 194743 or from code 194743.
I'm new to Mazda's and this board so any help would be greatly appreciated. |
I'm not familiar with the chasis code myself, but the best thing to do is go to either Auto Zone or even Mazda and tell them the Year, Make and model of your car and they'll give u teh timing belt that fits. I'm not really sure if the chasis code is what determines what type of timing belt is used. Correct me if i'm wrong but I think only thing they need is the model Year, Model, Make and the size of your motor. (ex. 1.5l)

You're not talking about VIN numbers, are you?
I know they do that on a lot of the parts for my '98. |
look go to mazdaformance.com and order what you need.
You will be ok there and recieve Your parts quickly .. Bruce |
I'm actually looking at www.global4autoparts.com in their replacement parts section (good site by the way) and DAYCO lists two part numbers depending on the part number. I don't know if that helps with the explanation.
Its a 98 Protege with a 1.5L |
