Hey, guys. I'm new to the forum here. I have a 98 LX with a 1.5 and a 5-speed, and while this car is fun, it's slow. Have any of you ever thought of dropping a rotary in one of these (I read an article about a guy who put one in his Miata)? I think it would be a blast, but would it work? What are your thoughts on it?

Ok, thank you for your imput on that. Exactly what I was looking for. I had already figured it would take a buuuuunch of time, let alone some money, but hey, it's an interesting idea...well so I think. I would say there are a few people here that wouldn't mind that. Last I checked, an FD's engine bay wasn't that big. Does sleeper come to mind? Not to mention some good handling? C'mon, I'm not the only person here playing the "what if" game. So whatever. Thanks again.

while you play the "what if" game we're going to play the "realistic goal" game!!

the cost/time/labor involved in doing somethign like this would be very high and IMO not worth it at all...it's been beaten to death. Plan on blocking aside $4-5K if you do all the labor yourself.

3 Rotor Cosmo engine, ya baby.

Ya probably all more headache and expense than it would be worth in the end.

Not withstanding a rotary is for RWD cars and a 3 isn't.

It is a wonderful little engine. Less than 300 lbs about the size of a milk crate before getting all the accessories on and crazy RPM up to 9K easy.

it is a realistic conversion for some applications. I don't think this is one of those apps.
