removing the cat

i have been informed that my cat is damaged inside and its gonna cost a slight penny to fix
i was thinking that since we here dont have any emmision laws to worry about i wanna remove the cat completely and just run a pipe straight to the muffler then later i wud get a hi perf muffler
is there any serious after effects of doing this? do i have to put that second o2 sensor in the straight pipe?
and will no cat affect my milage in a positive way?
its a 96 automatic

not a problem

I have a 96 1.5 and my catylic converter is hollowed out it makes the exhaust a little louder but gives you a little extra hp. When you cut your car on you smell a little exhaust if your windows are down but thats it once the fumes blow out your good.

You don't have to do anything once the cat is removed.

If your interested in an intake module just email me at bwo14@hotmail.com and let me know. Its easy to install and adds around 8-12hp to your car. They are selling for $20

I just unbolted my exhaust and used a long screwdriver.

I don't know what is in these things. its covered and I think it might brake if I try to open it.

What is the capasitor deal?
