remove driveaxle from intermediate shaft
 

How do I remove the right driveaxle from the intermediate shaft while the intermediate shaft is attached to the transmission. This is on a 95 protege, 1.5L. I asume that there is some type of a ring or clip on the spline of the intermediate shaft that is holding the two together. I cannot get any leverage on the driveaxle to pry it away from the intermediate shaft. Any recommendations?
