Need ALL available info on tranny swap plz

Car: 1997 Protege ES (Actually it's a 97 Sephia, but a few people might have problems helping with a Kia. So let's just call it a Pro ES since it's the same anyway)

Current tranny: Slowtomatic Mazda FA4A-EL

Problem: I hate the auto and have been sorta intentionally abusing it for some time now just so that I have a good reason for swapping out to a manual. Since yesterday (98,000 miles) the tranny is having a hard time engaging 1st gear. It still works, but moves real slow from a dead stop if left in D. For now, I'm putting the selector in "2" from a dead stop and then changing to D after i pickup speed.

My intention: To plan the process and swap out to a sweet G25M-R tranny (2nd gen Pro ES and 1st gen 1.8 Sephia) ASAP with minimum downtime and cost.

So gimme all you got folks... pictures, text, videos, etc....

Thanks a lot.

PS: I'm in Houston, TX. If anybody in the vicinity is experienced with auto-manual swap in an EGT, Pro, Tracer or Sephia, please do get in touch with me as I can really use your expertise at this time.

you will need

oil pan from a 5 speed... (escort or protege)
flywheel from a 91-94 lx protege
a clutch for the previous mentioned flywheel
A tranny from a 1st gen 91-94 ... don't know if your axles will work though. so you may want a tranny 5speed from a kia.
I got a wrecking yard with only kia stuff...

You will need the wire harness for a 5 speed .
the clutch hydrolic line, to run to the master cylnder.
third pedal.
5 speed cpu
and any other thngs that you may need.

I actually have a kia 5-speed tranny, but I have no idea how to ship that to texas.

i dont get it, here in barbados things like the oilpan ecu change and wiring harness arent required for a tranny swap for out second gens, we just get all the gearbox stuff and put it on the current ecu and harness and it drives like it was made to be manual, i guess theres a difference in the japanese and american model's ECU?
even the axles fit back
