A to M tranny conversion?

Is it possible and logical to do a conversion from an automatic to a manual transmission? If you know, about how much do you think it would cost to put it all in professionally? My AT tranny is going bad and i'd like a manual instead, but is it logical to get a manual put in it and can it be done?

It is possible and i guess most people are gonna say it's not worth the cost. But if u have the skills and can source all the necessary parts for real cheap, it won't be that bad. The details can be found in previous discussions. Just search the forums.

The way with the least headaches is find a similar car with a manual transmission, buy that one and sell your old car. THere was a discussion about this not too long ago, I think it was in this forum. It had a list of parts needed, or atleast most of the parts needed.

things you will need,
a manual tranny
clutch and flywheal (both can be gotten from mazdarecycling.com for about 80 bucks)
manual tranny oil pan
possibly MT wire harness
MT CPU .
might as well change your axles ...
shift linkage and shifter .

you can get the tranny or locate it at .. www.car-parts.com
