I use 89 and that is good enough with the intake and muffler, but I may have to step to super 91 with the turbo project ..

without forced induction or higher compression, higher octane gas is more than a waste of money,it will actually lower output....I read where the did this in sport compact car on a Civic and it dynoed 3-4 lower!!!!!

But is it useful to put 91 if I have my ignition advance to 14deg?
This is what I use all the time to be sure no ping will happen with the advance timing.
I heard somewhere that your suppose to ad an extra octane for each deg of ignition timing advance. Is it true?

From that advice I have to run 91: 10deg+4deg= 87+4octane= 91

It's also written in the car manual that I can use 91 for best performance. Makes me happy, I like putting the best stuff I can in baby.:p

thats exactly what i say. i don't care what anyone says, i only give the best to my car. and i actually do notice that it is a tad bit smoother.
