Engine swap cost ratio

Ok Im trying to get some things strait. I was looking into the cost of modding my 1.5L and then looked at the engine swap and the swap seems a hell of alot cheaper. But what I am curious about is what I actually need, I have read the post about engine swaps to a 1.8 but am still kinda confused ( Im a NEWB ). I was looking at corksport and saw that they had the BPT 1.8's now if I understand correctly I can mount this in my 95 LX with the proper motor mounts and a new ECU ( hope this is correct ). I was also reading that the 91-96 Escort GT uses the same engines as the Protege's, couldnt I just go rape one of these at a junkyard and do the swap since they are practically the same or could I just go and find a 1st gen 1.8 and rape it to mount in the 95. Please help me Im so confused...

While the 1.8L GTX motor may be cheaper to buy ($750 from me) it is not such an easy task stuffing it into your car. Custom mounts need to be made, you need to use the 1G components like Transmission, hybrid axles, ecu/standalone.. There is room for the motor, it can be done, but it is painstaking and end up costing a whole lot more than putting in a 1.8ES Motor and tranny. Then we'll just build you a Manifold and throw a turbo on that. Either way you're looking at approximately $4500 for either setup turbo'd.

If you just need a 1.8ES Motor I can get you one and probably a tranny too.

Ok screw the engine swap, I was looking into your turbo but was scared off by the hidden costs. I dont mind the cost for the manifold and turbo its just all the othe stuff I dont know I need. If I could have it setup and working for around $1200 it would be all good, also will that turbo setup work with N2O?
