A/C or not???

I need to replace my condensor to get my A/C working again.
But I'm consirering to strip it all out to get more hp to the crank and a weight reduction.
Is the complete A/C is really heavy?Does it worth it?
Please help, I'm in a big dilemma...

check out www.car-part.com , I have looked on there and see the 97 ones(supposed to be stronger than our 9596, for like 120 -170 ..
I don't know if the weight saving would be that much , personally I am keeping my ac when my motor goes in lol ..

There might be a weight reduction but I don't think it would make a big difference. The loss of the parasitic drag from the compressor would help though.

well if you are up to it ,, take off the ac compressor and see how it feals , I personally think it will only help you open your windows and sunroof....
