Thanks for the help!
I'm pretty stuck right now as to whats missing/broken, so I'm thinking I'll just take it over to the Mazda dealership. They can at least show me whats wrong - maybe they'll even be able to sell me the parts to fix it myself. Anyone know how much a selenoid runs? |
you could still drive without that solenoid. go to a junk yard and find one for $5 or something. I have a feeling the dealship would ask something like $40 or something. I remember one time I was looking for a fog light switch and it was like $60. Good luck!

Yep...best bet might be to find out what i need from the dealer, then head over to the junkyard.
I've also got a mechanic friend - if I get in over my head I could always have him fix it. Then again, I suppose it doesn't really need fixing.... If it's cheap, I might go ahead and have it done. |
Before you do anything make sure all your brake lights are working !!!! why you ask well the samething that is happening to you happen to me about 5 months ago on my 97 protege and to find out all that was wrong was that my third brake light was busted .
after I change the bulb everything was back to normal !! just a little info hope that helps |
