Air Intake Box

Ok guys, I need someone to please answer me this question.
Earlier I was bored so I thought I'd unhook the hose to the
intake box which holds the filter. The hose that im talking about
is the one that runs down into the air dam which is connected
to a plastic box. I'm sorta dumb when it comes to knowing
specific names so bare with me. But enyways, in doing this
have I gained any hp at all? Maybe 1 or 2?
Any response would be appreciated.
By the way, it's a 96' Lx.

no , you wont gain power. Think of it this way..
How will your air box recieve an ample amount of air , without new ducting...

ok. ok. thanks
but, is there any way i can get more power out of it?
Can I run pcv piping from up under the air dam into the
intake box? Will that might do anything?

Well you could pull the Factory Air Box out of the lower bumper area and then duct pipping up to the Intake ... Me and Hunter from www.Protegetech.com did this.
There is some work involved though as you have to pull the Front bumper off inorder to get to the AirBox Resonator..
There might be a page about it on the www.Protegetech.com , hopefully Hunter still has it linked off of his main page..

On my 97' LX i never had to take the front bumper off to pull out the resonator box. I just pulled off the wheel, and then the plastic wheel well and went to town on that POS..
