1.5 to 1.8 swap revisited...questions

Okay, I've got a '98 fire breathing 1.5 dx. As with any automotive enthusiast, I'm looking for more oomph. After years of dealing in CRXs, I'm leaning towards swapping to the 1.8 instead of spending all sorts of money on improving the 1.5.

But as usual with all things G2, there's no information on said swap(that I've found).

So I've been doing as much research that I can...I don't know much about the BP-DE engines or really have one I can compare with.

1. Will the block physically bolt in the car? I could see the motor mounts being different but I'm hoping the mounting points are the same on the frame.

2. Which tranny? I've read the tranny code for both engines is F25M-R. If I could bolt the dx tranny on the 1.8 block, this will (a)save money and (b) solve the axle question.

3. Assuming I have to use the BP tranny, will the corresponding axles fit the stock hubs or am I looking at full conversion.

4. Belt driven accessories...are the AC and alternator different between the two models? I'm hoping the accessories are the same and just swap belts.

5. Wiring...I'm thinking, swap harnesses and ecu to match the engine.

Anything else?

Any help or constructive criticism is appreciated.

I believe the axles are the same. You cant use the dx tranny tho, so you're outa luck there. Depending on the year/vin you may need new wiring for the ecu. Overall tho, probably the easiest swap I've ever seen!
