zx2 struts for '94 dx????

why i can't find that post now....??? but is there any truth in this matter of using zx2 struts for a sohc 94? Tokico seems to have the same replacements between the escort and the pro' , and the zx2 is basically an ezcort? All help appreciated greatly.

And any info for bushing size replacements for stabilizer bar...my jc whitey catalog has everything for the honda/mitsu, but nada for protege 1st gen.

I just put ZX2 struts and springs on my car today (my 323), so I think there would be no reason why you can't for your DX. Remember to order the thrust bearings with the struts.

www.oemfordparts.com is where I bought my struts, springs, and thrust bearings.

so thanks

thanx to all, that ford site is a little wacky, but now I just have to see if I can putem in myself????? I feel a wristburn coming on.

Yes, you can install them yourself. It was pretty easy, but it helped because I was using a lift and had access to airtools, hehehe :D

Look around for a post by mazdaspeedwest, click the "WWW" link, there is a how-to for installing the ZX-2 struts on his webpage.

'94 DX

I've got a '94 DX with the Tokico Struts and the Eibach Springs.. Works great.. Drives beautiful... Well worth the low price..

I did it myself, Very easy(I used airtools though, no lift)..

Like funkdaddy said be sure to order the thrust bearings when you order...

I also followed mazdaspeed's How-To....

Well, I used his directions, and I didn't have a mechanic do it. Does that count?

I was not implying the directions were not good, in fact, they are the same instuructions I will use when installing my suspension! I was merely pulling Jesse's leg because we're such good friend...isn't that right Jesse??? ;)

Anyway, how do you like your suspension now, Dan? :)

My bad, just trying to keep the boards friendly :D

Compared to before, the ride is probably better. My struts I took off were completely dead. You could compress them and then had to pull them back out, no rebound at all. I was probably just about riding on the bumpstops all day.

The new combo is fantastic. I let my sister's boyfriend drive it, he has about $2k put into his suspension on his celica, and he was really impressed what I could do for $450. There's a touch of oversteer, but only when you're going real fast ;)

Anyways, I haven't driven it for a week, it's still at my parents waiting to go to the garage... Hopefully I can pick it back up this weekend :)

SOLD!

I've decided to buy some ZX2 shocks.

Has anyone had them shipped to the Northeast or even to Canada? There is no shipping info on the site... How much was it for those who did have them shipped to these areas?

Also, how long did it take?

Thanks!

Call around to local ford dealers. You can find the struts for $300 and $50 for the thrust bearings. Shipping from the states will make the $160 US convert to way more than $300 canadian.

funkdaddysmack March-23rd-2003 11:54 AM

Shipping was very reasonable to PA. I got everything for $424.xx shipped. That included $190 springs, $160 struts, and $18.xx (each, I think somewhere close) bearings.

Shipping was very reasonable considering it was about 80lbs. Just the struts should be significantlys cheaper.
