You CAN get oem rear mud guards for 1st Gen

As Groharlem would say "Please don't move this thread to exterior ..." . This is specifically for 1st Gen. We all know you can easily get mud guards for 3rd Gen, but people have trouble finding these seemingly elusive rear ones for our cars. Anyway, I found them! At my Mazda dealer no less. They are the oem, fit right on your car, "Mazda" emblem on the bottom, rear guards. If your dealer has trouble locating them, just give them this part #: BR72-V3-460. Price was $39.75 for the pair. If anyone still has trouble getting them, let me know and I can order them for you. Btw, they look great!

PS. The front guards are another story ... not that they're hard to find (they're easy), just that they're $51 per side. Ouch!

pics? that sounds expensive, the logo is it big or small?

the logo is the "MAZDA" text and it's about 3.5 - 4 inches long, maybe 1" high in white.

Thank you, I'm writing that order number down.

Yeah, originally my dealer told me the same thing - that he could only find the fronts and the rear rock guards, but no rear mud guards. Then one day I was back in and another person was working the counter, so I asked her. She found them in their "Mazda Accessories" book that went back a few years. The other person was looking in their "Collision" book. Now if I could just find a new Canadian GT spoiler .... :p

yeah i love the mud gaurds. definately add to the look of the car. ive got front and rear. looks much better than some of the stockers i see runnin around town. only thing is i was thinkin about getting the evo kit but i think maybe the side skirts wouldnt look all that well so i might just get the front bumper and stick to the guards on the front and rear tires.

Still not standard even on the LX.

That's right - standard gear was front mud guards and rear rock guards. Even if you did find them at a junkyard they'd probably be crap.

Mud Guards

I am able to get OEM Mazda mud guards for a pretty good deal(BR94-V3-450G for front set, BR94-V3-460 for rear set Mazda 323 & Protege) and would be willing to sell and ship them to whoever wants them, if at least a few people want them. The front set would be $25 + shipping and the rear set would be $20 + shipping. I am in Canada so shipping will vary depending on where you are. Let me know if you are interested since I will be deciding on how many to pick up in the next week or so. The part numbers I have are slightly different then Beachnut's above, so you may want to check with your local dealer to make sure they will fit. They are genuine Mazda parts and the part numbers were verified by my local Mazda dealer. I will picking up a set of both for myself and can get more at the same time if people are interested.

Thats cool that some dealers have them, most of them will tell you to f off though b/c they are too lazy to special order stuff. I usually got told "they don't make them anymore, we can't get them" crap.....i eventually got the pair off of braden (i think, maybe someone else)

i have mine from the begining, front right is damaged, i really cant imagine her witouth them

beachnut February-18th-2003 04:36 PM

To each his own ... looks are subjective, but to imply that these things are gay is to imply that we're gay for liking them - I'm hoping that's not what you meant.

jeremy February-18th-2003 08:57 PM

no.....your not "gay" (unless you really are)

the mud gaurds TO ME-- are "gay".......
