wrong air filter?

hey i just replaced my air filter in my 94 mazda protege dx and i think i put the wrong one in. i got a FRAM extra life #CA6828. at the store (a walmart) there were 2 types of them for my car and i picked the one for a DOCH engine and i have a SOCH egine. will that make any difference if i leave that air filter in or will it cause problems to my car. thank you.

There shouldn't be a difference between the SOHC and DOHC air fliters.

I agree, just don't buy any internal mods for DOHC for your SOHC heheh. The air filter should be the same, unless they decided to pull in more air for the DOHC motor? I am not sure, I am going on common knowledge and not true technical info about your specific car :(
