where does this wire go to (pic)
2 Attachment(s)
My 91 DX is idleing pretty bad and i was wondering if this wire not connected to anything could be the problem. I took a picture of it, it's a ground wire between the fuse box and the air filter. If this isn't causing the problem, then what would be? Here's the symptoms...
low, rough idle low power white spark plugs All the plugs are getting spark. Cylinders have about 120 psi compression. Also, a couple of the plastic tips on the end of the fuel injectors are cracked, but i don't really know if that would cause what i'm talking about. If anybody could help, i would really appreciate it. |
looks lika a ground wire.. im not sure though. im not really smart with electrical

Ya see that rusty bolt head at the top
left of your second picture?.....right above that oily spot..... yeah, right there. It's just a ground link wire. There should be a small brass terminal attached to that bolt head or near by. Connect it there. Best Regards |
hmmm...I dont remember seeing any terminal there. I probably lost it. Do you know what it does. I can probably find one at the junkyard if i need it.
|
Well it likely assures a good ground return
between your igniter and engine. I need to take a look and see exactly. The terminal should still be there, or broke off in the end of the connector. I didn't see it in your connector photo although. The terminal is more of a bit of hardware than terminal. It looks like a washer with a small tab coming off the side to accomodate the connecter. Look again. It may be under another small connector. |
that wire grounds your transmission. there should be a small male connector near the extreme driver side of the transmission. The cracked tips on your injectors allows extra air to get buy the mass air meter causing the car to idle rough.
