Where do you add tranmission fluid too?
I dont know if i need to add fluid to the tranmission, i had my car for a year in a half and havent check my fluid... How can I... and where do i add more at...

Well, I'm assuming you have a manual since you have a short shifter. you check and add fluid through were the speedo cable goes into the tranny. there's like a 10mm bolt you have to loosen then you can pull out the speedo cable and gear. It's kind of a PIA to do, you might want to remove the battery to do it. i've only had to add fluid when i was doing a clutch so everything was out of the way already. Hope this helps.

so theres a tube under the battery... yea i get it a little bit...

Wow that kind of sucks. I added tranny fluid there last night (93 protege DX automatic) and now the car is sitting in the parking lot of walmart. It will not shift into anything. I hate automatics

you have to remove the speedo cable as stated before. you top up the fluid level to the brim.

if u remove the speedo cable and the screw and for some reason cant get the gear out, put the speedo cable back on and use it to pull out the gear....
only reason i sugest that is cause i had one that was stuck and ripped my hand up trying to pull it out ;) btw for the 4wd box that hole fills the transfer case not the gearbox, the gearbox is done through a bolt at the front of the box... |
i just had the same problem... i got both cv joints replaced..and when they put the reverse switch on they didnt put an o ring...so it leaked, and i took it to a trans shop and the speedo cable got stuck...cost me 350 bones....just to add trans fluid...
