Weak Blower Motor (Int. Fan)

I just got my A/C fixed, as discussed in one of my other threads, and while they were doing the evaporator, I had them inspect the blower motor due to very little air flow and strange noises. There was debris in the blower motor and they cleaned it out. Sounds smooth and quiet as can be now, but no improvement on flow.

It's not TOO horrible, and I'm guessing it's probably just how it was when the car was new (my family has had pro since new in 1991), but it is really insufficient for the Florida heat. (it'll be like a 90 degree day, and when I get into the car, the temperature inside will be like friggin 130 degrees...my friends are like WTFH!!) (there is no problem with the other A/C components...the shit is ice cold, it just isn't being blown out well enough.) :firehair:

Anyways, I'm wondering if there are high-powered aftermarket blower motors anywhere, or a simple conversion from another vehicle that is known to have a good fan. My mom's 2001 Accord has awesome air flow, no problem at all.

Thx :D

Tint

Think about getting some tint, the large windows let alot of sunlight in, heating up the interior. Especially if you might have a dark interior. As far as the blower motor, I think its pretty much standard. Crack your windows a bit. Good luck.

could it be that the fan was not only plugged up...but if the squirl cage on it was plastic....could it be damaged and be missing a bunch of vanes? or there is debris DOWN STREAM of the fan now? and that is blocking the flow?

if its all good.....and there are no holes in ductwork allowing the flow out before it gets to the dash....make sure you alway start up the system in recirc....will help cool it down quicker.

oh well

Thx for the advice, but I am proud to announce that it doesn't matter anymore :p My car is for sale effective immediately, and I will be the proud owner of a P5 immediately when my car sells.

WELL that is certianly ONE way to get a fan that works.....

now....if you smoke....would you trade in the new car once the ash try gets full? LOL

lol, I don't smoke, but if I did, I wouldn't do that, i'd just empty the tray lol....

Yea, I needed a new blower motor so I decided to get a new car with it. what the heck? :)

well with that all said...you have made a wise choice in your new ride! :{D

I just cant decide on a color...not getting silver because my 01 Accord is silver (actually mom's ride, but I drive it more than she does because my 1st gen pro sucks so bad, lol)

Vivid Yellow is cool but it seems to be rare....Classic Red is too common, that's always what color the p5's i see on the street are. Black is too hot...it's like 100 degrees here. Midnight Blue just doesn't grab much attention.

Such a dilemma! Also i'm going to ask the dealer to install the $1300 two-tone leather package with the protege5 logo on the seat. Mmmm, so sexy. WHAT COLOR??
