A way to get rid of the automatic seatbelt

It says the harness can be bolted to existing belt mounts, roll-bar, seat brackets, floor, rear seat hook.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=33555

Now how about just a plain, normal shoulder belt. I know they exist cuz a friend of mine's 'Cuda had to have them installed, since the car did not originally have them.

hmm, what about just pulling the fuse for your belts, and hey, it'd be just about the same pain in the ass as fastening 4 belts :).

don't take any offense to this, but i just love it when people recommend you get parts from a car that is 1000 miles away from you, or don't have more than a 1 in a million chance of getting, or costs more than the car is worth, or would it the biggest fuckin PITA you could imagine to install.

... so with that said, what parts would you have to swap out? pillar covers, center console, plastic trim pieces, the belts.. physically, are there any electronics involved? and how good would a 3-point restraint look inplace bolted next to independent restraint system? any who..

I'm in the process of swapping out the driver's belt in my '93 LX right now. I went to www.car-part.com and ordered a belt and the necessary trim pieces. (you can search for parts from Canada only if you like, very simple) Everythign came to about $60 delivered. The process is fairly easy...remove existing trim and install the new belt w/hardware. Then you can remove the motor-mouse on the top of your door and disconnect the power to it as well. You can leave the female end of your belt (the piece by the center console) in place. I've got the parts, am cleaning them, and will install late next week. I'll repost after the job is complete and let you know how much work it is.
