Vibrant Air filter
Hi !! That's not a question.......................................
I only wanted to tell everyone my mod lol Well... I bought a Vibrant Performance Air Filter + the adaptor for the air flow meter, cost me 21.34$ + 34.31$ + tx = 64.01$ CANADIAN DOLLARS....... in US it's like 46.32$ BUT we don't have the same taxes............. sooooooooo lol Without taxes it's 55.65$ CAN or 40.27$ US Now, this filter is FAT!!!!!!!!!!! Man, I thought I was going to just remove the black plastic thing and the stock filter and drop the new filter there with the adaptor...... hmmm In fact I had to remove all the plastic thing under the stock filter + (the tube in the fender..) Well... Now I'm not sure if I like it lol At idle the filter is really screaming, I don't know if it's normal but anyway it's a little anoying, maybe I'll get used to it. Oh, it took me about 1hour, that includes 15minutes of headache to figure out how to install it lol I'm sorry if I wasted your time but, well... I'm not sorry :D :D :D :D |

Well, in fact I don't see any difference but the sound :(
Also, is it normal that the tip of the filter is just like a mesh grill ?!? shouldn't it be a filter?? |
Also, is it normal that the tip of the filter is just like a mesh grill ?!? shouldn't it be a filter?? uuuuuuh i'm not 100 % on that mine is just solid on the end i guess it just depends on the manufacuturer? i would think its aight if its being sold but then again alot of things that ppl try and sell you are crap............like saturns and kia's.......lol |
Well... I got it from a store near me and the store buy its stuff from ekeystone.com ....

cone vary in styles and design. mesh on the end sounds a little weird though.
i know the APC filter i have has a conical indention on the end that looks just like the outside of the filter. works great from what i can tell. you may want to have a shop take a look at it. they can tell you whether its for real or not. :) |
Mesh on the end is actually normal for the filter you purchased.
Sounds to me like you got one of our 'Type-V' style filters, with the stainless steel mesh/filter element in the end-cap. The Type-V filters were designed to minimize air turbulence caused by the filter. The end cap was replaced with a special design that has filter media across the entire surface of the end-cap. The end result is a filter that flows much smoother then a solid capped filter cone. The Type-V filter flows smoother then our 'Funnel Ram' style as well, but the gains are smaller then over the solid end cap designed filters. HTH, -Dave |
