Is there a fuel cut off switch?

Hello all new to the forum. I have a strange problem with my 92 protege where it decided to just not start. It cranks, turns over and the electrical system is fine. I was backing up the car with the engine off on a hill, and I accidentally hit the curb somewhat hard. I looked all over the car and owners manual but could find nothing about a fuel cutoff or reset switch. Earlier today I washed my car. I also took out the back seat and cleaned up a spill that had happened a few days ago. My problem is identical to the problem in this post.

The one peculiarity is that the fuel gauge which is supposed to show the amount of fuel I have in it even when the engine is off is at the dead empty position. I can't imagine what happened unless someone stole every drop of my gas. What the heck is wrong???

Problem solved!!

That was it! I must have rubbed the fuel pump connector loose when cleaning under the back seat! Reconnected it and my car started (feeling real dumb). Thanks to Bruce95fmla for pointing that out in the other thread! What an awesome forum this is!! Sorry if I bugged any of you.

Welcome, and just for future reference, I have not seen any reference of a fuel cutoff switch on a protege ...
