Starting/Power Problem

My '91 323 will not start! Its a power problem, because I can jump start it. It has a brand new battery in it, I even charged it too. I put some tin in between the terminal and connector, and it started and worked for about three days, and now it wont start again. NOW once it has been jump started, and the headlights are on, when I give er some gas, the headlights dim, when they theoretically should get brighter, right? Does anybody have any idea whats goin on?

clean your battery terminals with a wire brush and clean your altenator too, if you dont know how to, get a shop to do it for you, 20-30 bucks tops
