Shaking Mirrors
 

My two side mirrors on my protege shake so bad while im driveing that I cant even see in them. They are power mirrors. What could be causing this? A loose set-screw or somthing?

lol, mine do that too... i haven't a clue.

I had that happen also. You just need to grab a phillips screw driver and tighten the screw that holds the mirror in place. There is an access hole to the head of the screw underneath the side mirrors on the out side. It should be very loose...you will need to tighten it.

On my 1992 with power mirrors, there was a broken piece of plastic that I fixed with epoxy. Try this: turn the power mirror all the way outside (away from the car) using the power mirror buttons. Using flashlight, look inside mirror housing while wiggling the mirror. If you see a white plastic piece moving that looks like it is broken in two pieces, then you have the same problem I had. One broken piece connects to the mirror assembly and the other broken piece connects to the mirrir housing.


I mixed up some JB Weld epoxy and dabbed it in the broken area with a long screwdriver. Duct taped the mirror to hold it while the epoxy cured and it has held for a few years.
