Stick with the Hatch.
323, cheap easy build up |
good to hear some advise. i believe i will stick with the hatch til i get her into the 13's on slicks. when i accomplish the i will be looking for a daily driver. there are a lot of theives out in DFW area that would liketo get their hands on a 13sec hatch.
 fuk off damn thievs!! |
Welcome to the board . Glad to see you here and hope that you have fun checking out our boards and posts .. Just remeber the search button is your friend ..
there are thieves everywhere when it comes to Honda's .. The steal them like nothing I have ever seen before.. A good daily grind car would be a 90-93mazda 323 hatchback .. you can get them for 500 bucks give or take and if you want them to be speedy you can swap a 1.8 dohc in them, that comes from the protege.. They come with a 1.6:D so .. it would be up to you .. I have 1 and it took some getting used to ..but I am really starting to like it .... |
Yeah I Have a pro and after i"m done putting in the KL-ZE i think i"m gonna try and get me a 323 and throw the BPT in it. I can't stand the way that the backs on those look damn ugly i think, but with one of those mid-hatch spoilers i think that they look alot better. that way one n/a and one with forced induction. that might be a little while though. but yeah if you get a mazda the 323's a good choice some have the 1.8 SOHC in them, which are very stout motors also, and could take plenty of boost if enough fuel is provided. just make sure you switch over the tranny from a DOHC Protege.

None of the 323s from 90-94 ever came with a 1.8 SOHC.
1.6L SOHC yes. |

yup , they are nice little cars...
handle good to.. |
None of the 323s from 90-94 ever came with a 1.8 SOHC. i would recommend a 323 anyday. :D |
possible, I mean anything is.
But I am pretty sure that they were all 1.6 |
yea you can get a 323 hatch very cheap, even a 1st gen protege 1990-94 or a 2nd gen pro 95-98 pro pretty inexpensive. Id personally try to get a early model 2.2litre turbo hatch styled 626. Kind of rare, but really fun to drive. Not seen many pimped out thou!!
just my input. |
I dont have much to say about the 323's other than I dont like the back end. But other than that sure why not. I have a 1st gen pro, that I drive daily mostly stock, gets 34mpg and it isnt FAST!!!! but it isnt the slowest thing in the world either. I recommend any of the early pro's or 323's.

Or you can get a escort GT ;)
|
or a new ZX3 :)

1st gen Proteges and 323s sell for close to the same price and with a Pro, you'll have more power in stock form.
I'd say go with the Pro. |
