I would say the second one but if it is a 1st gen woudlnt you need to worry about the Mass air flow plug in??...thing what ever that is i wasnt really clear on it myself....

I really don't know, Until a month ago I was driving a 1983 mazda RX-7, then it got totaled, and I wanted something fun to drive but a little more sedate (to many tickets with the 7). In some ways it was a lot esiar to work on (once you got past the roatory engine). I'm planing on redoing the suspention, exaust, intake, and wheels+tires for starts. The only thing I'm really getting hanged up on is the intake, it's not as straight forward as I was expecting. Any hints would be helpfull, thanks.

Well, for one thing, if you're posting this in the first gen section, then you've probably got a first gen right??
The first intake is quote-unquote, desgined for the second gen. THough I wouldn't really think it makes any kind of difference with that sharp 90 degree bend in it. The second one is just a filter and an adapter for your VAF. Its not really an intake of any kind. If you've got a first gen I suppose I'd say go for the second one. |
yes, it's a first gen, 1993 LX. I'm not compleetly sure how the stock intake works on the car. I'm reasonably sure that both kinds fit the 1993, but thank you for your feedback, I think I'll go with the second option.

anybody have a picture of the first auction he linked installed on a motor? I wouldn't mind a CAI, but I'd probably modify it so it ran out of the engine bay and into the fender to pull in cooler air.
