Headlight visibility
I had a hard time getting a straight answer from searching, so I'll ask here: What's the best way for me to improve visibility at night? I pretty much have to drive with my high beams on right now. Cleaning helped a little but not enough.

Are you sure that your headlights are aimed right? If they are then you might want to try some of the Xenon super white bulbs.

A pair of Fog lights

install relays on your headlights. it increases their efficiency. your lights arent shooting light at full capacity if you dont have relays.

you know, I'll have to say, I dunno what kinda bulbs you guys have, but my lights are damn bright. they get cleaned and polished everytime I wash the car, so I dunno, what are you guys doing that makes your headlights so shitty?>

Originally posted by Gro Harlem I'd have to say our headlights are the shittiest designed headlight ever!! They project in such a small area, I'm surprised they consider them street legal. focking mazda! It would be nice to get euro lights, but I imagine they're expensive. Shoot, even new aftermarket headlights are about $150 each. For the Escort, they are $40. It's worse when I drive the car empty, as I adjusted the headlights for when the car is loaded (because it usually was loaded with autocross stuff). With the GF daily driving it, I really need to adjust the lights more often. Oh, and they aren't that worst headlights ever, but they are close. |
Get some PIAA 85/100 watt bulbs. and a nice set of Driving lights. The bluish tinted/hyperwhites are usually the best. brighter then the clear halogen lookin ones.

I bought some kind of 100w/80w
I was amazed by the low beam.. very powerfull without even being too strong... I don't know why but the high beam are not very good, the light seems to be lost everywhere and I see less the road on high... So I'm always on low beam, and I prefer them like this, they light more than the original high beam so I'm happy... maybe one day I'll buy some PIAA :D |
if you use overwatt bulbs you WILL melt your wiring harness, and/or headlight housing.

Heh... time for a trip to Wal-Mart... lol
|
OK now... where would I get those nifty E lights? lol
Also, how much? I'm on a very tight budget but it's pretty unsafe for me to be driving around with what I've got. |
I know of someone that can get them, I wonder what kind of interest there might be out there in getting together on a group buy?

I would be in there like swim wear!

Im down if they its a good price. I have a GTX grile with 2 yellow ipf lights in it but i dont use them they are just too bright. Everyone flashes me. Makes it look like the sun came out ..Jon

I can probably get a few pairs over the summer as I am going to Europe. As for price, I have no idea as of yet, but once I get there (about a month) I'll let you guys know the details. All I know is that I'm certainly getting a pair for myself.:)
