Getting another Pro
 

My fiancee is wanting another car , a four door, right now she has a '91 Cougar. It's a nice car it's just that it would be a lot easier if she had a four door because we.....or i should say "she" is having a baby. So we've been looking for the past month or so and can't really find anything that we caould afford; only because everyone down here wants at least $3,000 for late '80's early '90's vehicles with over 100,000 miles on them, and that is private sellers. At any rate i had to take a customer of mine to his house because he dropped off a car to get repaired at my shop. His house, well it was really his Grandpa's shop, is way out in the boonies. On the way back i see a junk yard that i have never seen before. Low and behold there is a 92 Protege ( DX) sitting out in front of the gate. I call them up when i get back to the shop and they tell me that they'd give it to me for 600 bucks, the interiors in really good shape (except for the carpet. The only problem is the tranny is bad. So i'm like allright i might have finally found a car for the wifey. So I call around to a few J/Ys here in town.....we only have about 2 1/2 good ones. I find a tranny for $400. So i'm thinking okay $1,000 thats not bad. Well I call the guy up that has the pro and it just so happens that he has another Pro in the yard that has a good tranny in it. I'm hopeing that it's an LX. Maybe i can finally do something else to my car. Anyways I can get both Proteges, both have good motors and 1 has a blown tranny from what they tell me, for $1,000. So now all i gotta do is sell her car and i get a project car, if it's an LX or not i'm still gonna turbo the SOHC i got now and put the KL-ZE in the other. I'm gonna do the KL-ZE first hopefully.

So do you guys think that 2300 for a Cougar that has an immaculate interior, was re-painted about 7 months ago, has brand new tires, and about 94,000 miles on it is a bad price??? Oh btw it's an LX not XR-7. It has one dent on the passenger side door not really bad. Well i can't sell the SOB so my mom told me if i paint it she'll 'gimme 2500 (I've went down to 2000) for it. Blue Book is still 2800. The only thing is she doesn't have the money right now....she is supposed to soon, and the J/Y was planning on fixing the pro then selling it. So if I want them i have to get them soon. Man i shoulda just bought her a 4 door anyway instead of the cougar. Hopefully everything will work out.:D

Hey if it a Lx and you dont want the motor since you said turbo soch and kl-ze how much fo the motor...If it the right price I might have to take a drive up to roswell one weekendand get it from you.If you want I will help you pull it to 4 hands are better then two...
