front lip?

ok i was wondering around the board today and see this post about front lips for the 3rd gens and such, now im wondering is there a front lip for the 1st gen?

if so does anyone have a pic to share?if it dont exist do you think it would be easy to fab one up from one at a junk yard?

Tweeaks March-30th-2003 11:51 AM

I've never seen a front lip sold for the pro, but i made one for my front bumper http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...threadid=21775
I'm gonna get some Honda Civic side skirts and cut them to fit the pro also. I'm not too sure what i'm gonna do about the rear bumper though any one have any suggestions?

Tweeaks March-30th-2003 11:52 AM

I've never seen a front lip sold for the pro, but i made one for my frontbumper. It took probably around 20 Hours in all to get it how you see it. I still have to prime it, and sand it down again before i can paint it.

u could get a rear bumper from a 91 or so accord or a 92-95 civic and mold it to the rear bumper that's what i'm doing on my car i used to have a merc tracer and i was gonna do the same thing but i got rid of it and got the pro so i'm planning on doing that.:D

Tweeaks April-2nd-2003 12:21 PM

but i don't think it will be long enough from the back of the bumper to the wheel well.

1ofdfew323 April-3rd-2003 09:44 AM

well i made me a custom made front li. It looks like the 99 civic SI but better and no modification just screw it in no bondo necessary. if anyone wants one hit me up at jonga1118@aol.com my cusin buys it for me and i make it fit. $48 for the parts and shipping....i have no idea...

Tweeaks April-3rd-2003 11:10 PM

1ofdfew323 April-3rd-2003 11:49 PM

here u go....

Tweeaks April-5th-2003 03:45 AM

So there you go semtex, the 48 bucks seems like a steal to me, if id have known that a civic lip would fit up that easily thats what i would have done, well thats what i planned on doing originally.

Hey 1ofdfew323, Did it come off of a civic? 'cus theres quite a few good looking lips you can get for them, and with the bigger hole in the pro front bumper i think it'll look more aggresive.

1ofdfew323 April-5th-2003 10:03 AM

no, no this is not a civic front lip ....isaid it looks like a civic front lip..the civic lip is too expensive for me be messing around i got this off of my cousin from Reno he just send me this and told me to try it on and it works with alil modification. it looks way better if ur standing next to the car.....anyhow this bumper is taken by Cablemirc we did a trade.....im jsut waiting for that GTX bumpers.

Tweeaks April-5th-2003 12:41 PM

Then you can put the lip on the GTX bumper too!:D Or get this one from http://www.onderground-design.com http://www.onderground-design.com/BO...23bgturbo.jpeg

If i'm reading their page right they want $300 though. Maybe for the whole bumper? I like that lip though, kinda looks like mine only the air dams are a little more bigger in length (on mine).

Tweeaks April-6th-2003 06:34 PM

before i did any modification on my car i called them for help and they are not very helpful at all. Everytime i ask them for help on my car (about 3 calls) they tell me to call later y? because this guy who does that is not around? so i'll call when they want me to call and when i do they tell me the same thing or say i dont know what that is when all im asking is that if i could fit a sohc tranny on a dohc engine....thats it. i didn't know about this forum then.
I had the feeling that they dont entertain the cotumers very well.
what i did was call them back same day make it seems like im interested in buying performance clutch and he gave me the price and i ask if i order this today how long do i have to wait he said in couple of days ...ect...then i ask the same question if i can put the sohc tranny on a bp dohc motor he said." yeah no problem there it fits right in even the clutch etc....." and so i told him ok i will be calling u in 30 mins about the clutch. u see they only help when u buy something......i dont know any place where i could buy stuff from my car but corksport and i dont feel like buyingstuff from there anymore...2 weeks ago i ordered pacesetter headers, which i have receive already and i ordered the magnecore wires that they told me i should be getting it on tuesday last week and i haven't gotten it i called them back on friday they said it'll be day today now its already sunday i still dont have it. i order the GTX bumpers too 2 weeks ago before i ordered it i ask him how long will it take for me to get it he said 2 weeks and said THIS IS THE ONLY ONE WE HAVE IN STOCK it'll take us 7 weeks to get more if u dont get this soon. so i bought it and when i called them on friday just to make sure they send my gtx bumpers they told me this.....umm... i checked the tracking # but ahh.. i dont know where exactly it is but its i think its on its way to corksport next week... TO CORKSPRT NEXT WEEK!!! they told me they have it in stock !!!!
basically i just spent $925.... 2 weeks ago for my parts and i will be spending more on this car just like when i spent $12,000 on my civic but i dont want corksport to get any of my money anymore...

2fast4u April-10th-2003 02:11 AM

corksport

I know what you mean about being told one thing and then another thing happening, like with your body kit. I was ordering a centerforce clutch from NOPI and I had ordered it and they said that it would be at my apartment in like 7 days. Well I waited 7 days and then I call ask them about it, they look it up in their computers and told me that they had to cancel it because they didn't have anymore in stock. So I had to order through Centerforce themselves. What a pain. But just to let you know, things like this happen all the time, doesn't mean that that place is bad, it just happens every now and then. NOPI is a very well known and respected company and so is Corksport, just every now and then they screw up.

I know they do like to talk to customers even though it doesn't seem like it. I'm in Albany, Oregon which is 65 miles from Corksport in Portland and I went up there and was asking them dumb questions. Now this was when I was just getting into my car and I asked a lot of really dumb questions and the guy that I was talking to didn't mind that I didn't know jack about my car, he very nicely explained everything to me and really seemed interested in what I wanted to do with my car. So I guess I'm just saying, don't count Corksport out completely, they're cool guys, and they know their shit.

1ofdfew323 April-10th-2003 09:13 PM

i know they know their shit. but then again u gotta understand i just barely started building a mazda i dont know jack about it too i got my 323 6 months ago and now i've already have most of the stuff a 323 owner could have. But non-of my stuff was install by other peeps i did everything and when i get stuck i cant count on corksport to help me out even if i just spent $900 for the parts that i bought from their store....I'm still waiting for that GTX bumpers that i ordered its not here yet but im cool about it im not on a rush anyways i called to day and ask if they can help me on my question hoping that they'll help me since they lied about my GTX bumper. but no they didn't help me ..its cool tho i just found me a shop down here today that sells JDM stuff for all japanese cars ....

lukasz70 April-12th-2003 08:41 PM

hey on the above pick,
how do they do that trick with the head lights and the hood, anyone know?

Tweeaks April-12th-2003 08:50 PM

uhhmmm......:( i'm not quite sure what you are talking about.

sorry should have been more clear
see how the hood comes over the head lights kind off. its looks really nice. i was just wondering if anyone knows how its dont

http://www.onderground-design.com/BO...23bgturbo.jpeg

Tweeaks April-12th-2003 09:00 PM

I believe what they did was weld the eyelids (i can't remember if that's what they're called, maybe eyebrows?) to the hood.

lukasz70 April-12th-2003 09:09 PM

thats what they're called,
eyebrow!! couldn't remember

but weld :( crap, i gotta welding thing in my garage, but thats to easy for my dad to mess up!

oh, off topic, would it be reasonable to make headers for my car?

my dad can weld them, its just a matter of cutting it and shaping them.

but would it be worth the effort? in terms of hp gains

Tweeaks April-12th-2003 09:14 PM

Yeah they sell the eyebrows for the 323's. You don't have to weld them on they slide on top of your headlights; they just welded those ones.;)

About the Header's i'm not too sure how easy that'll be, well how easy it'll be to make one that would give gains over the stock one.
Most muffler shops should charge around 200 to make one for you.;) I found a guy here that only charges around $90. all he needs is measurements and an exhaust manifold gasket.

lukasz70 April-12th-2003 09:29 PM

crap, so i guess the header idea is out for now,

they actually would'nt cost me anything :D my dad would weld them together from some stainless steel pipes so price is not an issue, its just a matter of knowing the size and if it would give any hp gains

grr, i've read so many contradicting things today, i've alway assumed that bigger exhaust, headers +intake =more power. :( but ifs its to big you can loose power, and an article i read about intakes showed that putting on an intake over stock can make you lose power :(

Tweeaks April-12th-2003 10:09 PM

yeah, bigger isn't always better.....well it is if we're talking about.....oh wait nevermind.:D

About the header don't take my word for it, i'm not sure about that stuff.

There are some good threads in the 1st gen engine/drivetrain forum regarding the intake and exhaust. Intake (just a cone filter)
adds a little HP. I think the Dyno shows that it adds a little more HP, but loses torque if the resonator is taken off.

1ofdfew323 April-14th-2003 11:43 PM

well my GTX front bumpers are lost! here's wut happen. i called corksport today and ask where the bumpers at? since its been 4 week that i've been waiting w/ no complain. they told me that they dont know where it is exactly and i ask him (ben thats his name) where is the GTX i have no idea it was suppose to be here but we haven't gotten it so i tiold them that they told me i should be getting it in two weeks and its been 4 weeks and corksport still dont have it. I was like damn...i told him for get it i want to cancel my order u guys are laggin' w' my shit! and rite when i said that he told me this. " oh ! u know what ? im sure we're getting one today this afternoon" i was like wut da ? wut kind a BS is this? told 'em for get about it i want my money back.....i guess i will have to order one on that site that was posted up there.... :the finge

Tweeaks April-14th-2003 11:50 PM

Wow, that really sucks man. Hopefully you won't have to pay too much from onderground design, im not too sure where they're located. But at least after you order it you can tell us all if it comes with that lip.:D

1ofdfew323 April-15th-2003 12:40 AM

oh yeah for sure.....i'll let u guys know after i get my money back from corksport... damn !
