engine lag between 2-4k rpm

When i step on the gas, my car engine rpm just don't want to accelerate. But after 4k rpm, it's normal.

Any ideas?

Plug wires would be my first guess, especially if if feels retarded (like there's a big rubber band tied to your rear bumper) below 4k. Above that, the spark events are happening close enough that misfires are less noticeable.

The boots inside the head tend to crack due to heat. The blue NGKs and Magnacores seem to be the most resistant to this phenomenon. Cheap wires will usually last no more than 2 years or 20k miles.

I had the same problem after I replaced my Dist. O-Ring, but it just needed a timing adjustment and it fixed it pretty well.. Still needs a little more adjustment but have not had the time...

Hope it helps...
