E Brake Light On Dash

My E brake light just started lighting up for no reason at all. I checked to make sure the e brake was all the way down, but it still was lit. Has anyone had this problem?

Re: E Brake Light On Dash

Your brake fluid might be low (past the sensor). If I'm correct, the brake light on the dash comes on if the fluid is low and/or the e-brake is on. Hope that helps.

the ebrake situation happened to me too. it happened about a week before me and my dad was about to replace the brakes front and back, after the brake job was done, the light didnt come on anymore while the ebrake was completely down. so this fixed my problem.

That's because when you put new pads on, you had to push in the pistons back into the calipers, which forced brake fluid back into the reservoir above the low fluid sensor.
