Drifting in a Pro

Man, yesterday on the way home i did the stupidest thing: Drifting in my stock pro. Yah. the first 90 degree right turn was perfectly executed and impressive to the two wigger punks in a prelude that were following me. The 90 degree left drift that followed (in my neighborhood) was not executed perfectly; not a sharp enough turn. I ended up running through one of my neighbors bushes and made tire marks through part of his front lawn and driveway. I apologized and he took it all in stride(prolly cuz im a filipino, his wife is filipino too), and let me off. But the worst part to me was having the two wiggers following me watch me screw up my drift, embarrassing, after they asked if i was ok they began to laugh. On top of that i knew my right front strut was bad(by that i dont know, thats just what the last owner told me), and i have a completely stock vehicle with unreliable old parts on it. The result? The next day the right front tire now leaks air around the rim. Moral of the story: dont show off your drift skills to a bunch of wiggers if you really dont have much skills to begin with, and if you do, dont ram into your neighbors bushes in front of them.;)

So..my question...Are the tires fixable? or do they need to be replaced? And does anyone know what the last owner meant that "You have a bad right front strut.", and would it affect the handling of my car (as i can just blame my embarrassing escapade on faulty car engineering), for sharp cornering and drifting? BTW at near 65mph the car shakes a bit due to the strut.

my technique...

Goin about 50, a second before my turn i down shift to second gear and make a sharp turn left or right, no e-brake or normal brakes.

please tell me that ur kidding with all of us when u say that u dont know what is meant by "you need a new right front strut"... look at some website (www.horsepowerfreaks.com should have somethin cheap), or maybe even a local pepboys, or any shop like that

and you were not drifting, i did this alot in my pro, its called wrecklessly driving ur car around a corner, if u wanna drift, go to bk, mcdonalds, or w/e and get a couple trays, put em under ur back tires, pull the ebrake a lil bit then drive off, then ull see what drifting is...

p.s., get some new tires, wal-mart (sams club) has some nice ones for the pro dx, theyre called BFGoodrich: The Advantage. i just got a new set put on my car for 200 including installation... so its not a bad deal...

If it's "wreckless" then there is no problem, since no one wrecked anything.

Now "reckless", on the other hand...

;)

ummm... "wiggers"? Does anybody else have a problem with this?

It works!

Happy censoring!

:) ROFLMAO :)

I had forgotten about that shortcut

I don't have a problem with "wigger"... that's kinda like asking if anyone has a problem with "ricer". It's just another stereotypical, derogatory phrase.

I think that we had this same conversation on the toprotege board mike... ....sometime following the niagara cruise

hahaha, drifting in a FWD car. I do however like the mcD's tray under the rear wheels idea!! That is great! If you want to drift, buy a drift car, if you want to drag, but a drag car, if you want win at races BUY A RACE CAR!! I love taking slow pieces of junk and making them quick, but drifting an FWD is like using a moped as a minivan. Sure you can eventually get similar results, but its ineffecient. With what you'd spend on modifying your car for drifting you could buy a bone stock 240SX and it would smoke the protege.
Also, keep that crap off of our public roads. You deserve a darwin award for driving like that in a neighborhood.

this is in reference to ACTUAL racing conditions on an ACTUAL race track/course. Because, i'd be fighting myself NOT to stomp a mudhole in your ass, not for wrecking my lawn, but for driving like an asshole in my neighborhood where my kids play.

in order to drift in a FWD car, you need a few things...one being ACTUAL skills, two forward motion...Now, how do we get forward motion in a car...gas pedal! how do we come OUT of a drift in a FWD car...gas pedal! See the problem here?

You will only drift as far as your momentum will take you, the second you hit the gas, you pull out of the drift. A properly executed drift in a FWD car is short at best, pretty weak in terms of "drift", fun nonetheless. (FYI: not necessarily the fast way around either :) )

I've never used the e-brake to drift (excluding driving in snow) it's hard enough to hit the regular brakes to slow down...cause going slow when your RACING sucks.....:):):)

Roddimus Prime October-30th-2003 09:22 AM

agreed, FWD cars lose momentum so fast that drift racing is wasted on them. I also feel the same about drag racing a FWD, but my last 4 toy racers were all FWD. They were pretty quick, but would barely keep up with stock RWD's.

On a similar note....how come I haven't seen anyone drift racing in a miata? Wouldn't they be ideal with the light weight, good torque to weight ration and tossable handling?? Why is the 240 the drfiters choice??

skr33t_rac3r October-30th-2003 09:49 AM

just find a big ass parking lot after it rains one day go bout 60 turn a bunch and the car will turn a little and continue straight now it is drifting but kinda cheating
