check your intake piping, tps, and go to www.clubprotege.com and ask around...i believe someone is having a similar problem. also try searching

when you adjust the idle on the proteges or fords you have to jump two wires in the diagnosis box (around the brake booster area) when it is right the idle will increase then you can adjust it. If you have more problems get a repair book and look it up. if that is not it it could be a senor or a broken vacume line.

thanks guys. i did what you guys said. the intake pipe was a little loose and the timing was off 5 degrees. it defineately runs better but its still surging. could it be a vacuum prob? the mechanic who swapped engines took off the vics, could that be the problem?

Liquid_Ag February-16th-2004 01:58 PM

^^^ yes, you need vics lol
