DEAD CAR... :( Assistance please :-D

Hello Everyone.

Ok, im not a mechanic or anything of the sort but I can read a book and do what people tell me to do. I''ve been spending about the last 3 days
researching some stuff online..tbh none really makes sense to me, like i said im not a machanic but im not about to pay someone to do something
i coudl do myself with a little help :-D

This is my problem and its a pretty crappy one atm..

I got a ''93 Mazda 323 and the Trany just took a dump on me.

So far I have these options open...
-Rebuild it ... lol

I just checked every junk yard in the entire NorthEastern region of the uSA and cant find any thing.

SO! This is my question and concern for you guys.

-Is there another car out there that has a trany thats swappable with the 323?
-Should I try as hard as I possibly can to find a trany?
-There another car that has a suitable trany that could be swapped? or do I need to find another '93 323?

Also, If worse comes to worse, how hard is it to rebuild a trany, my dad is a mechanic and I have a few buddies so Ill have some help if and when needed.
I have the book and all the tools. I just need to know of any literature that I could print out(links please), anything that might be a good idea
to do, check, fix, or replace while I have the trany out since ill have room to mess with anything else in that are of the vechile. Also, maybe a worse case scenario
of about how much EVERYTHING might cost me.. just ball park it if you can please :_D

Any Spec''s I could find on the Car-
Engine - B6 1.6L SOHC 8V(i think...)
Transmission - Auto 1.6L
Chassis - BG(?)
Year - 1993

Thanks guys, Im really a fish out of water when it comes to cars, But i can do it if I have accurate info and help :-D
Im very very appreiciative of any help and links that anyone provides me.
Any HOW TO links or diagrams will be very helpful.

THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
