Get some engine degreaser and spray the piss out of the engine well. Then take a high pressure washer and spray the all the shit out of there. Make sure the engine is cool.

Is it ok to just spray water on the engine like that will eneything bad happen. Also did u do it before?

Yeah it's okay. Just becareful not to use the high pressure over the wires too much and stay away from the intake. Make sure the engine is cool.

Plug wires just pull out...
When I clean my engine, I pull the plug wires out beforehand, stuff rags into the holes and duct tape the holes shut. Keeps the water out really well.

I also duct tape pieces of Saran Wrap around vital electrical components (fusebox, coil packs, etc.) and also duct tape around the cap of the brake fluid reservoir. Brake fluid will absorb water and make your brake pedal spongy.

Good luck :D

Stay away from the alternator, too. I like to use Simple Green, it's not as caustic as engine degreaser. Dry/Towel off what you can afterwards. . . waterspots look ugly under the hood.

Simple Green works wonders. :D Make sure you get the automotive kind though, as there is household and automotive. I'm pretty sure they're the same exact thing, but the automotive kind foams up a little to work better, and the household doesn't foam when sprayed.
