Advice needed, please help!!
 

Hi,
I have a '93 Protege, i was hoping somebody could please answer a few questions i have regarding it.
First, Hold Light is on all the time- i understand it's a problem with the overdrive/transmission. I don't really know anything about cars, i hoped somebody might be able to let me know what problem is and what it'll cost to get a garage to fix it.
Second, how much might i expect to pay for new brakes.
Finally, it's in pretty rough shape- has 115,000 miles on clock, quite beat up etc. How much could i sell it for and what's the best way to go about selling it? Should i get it all fixed up and try and sell it privately or should i go for trade value at some second hand car dealers?
Thanks for help and advice, i'm only in America 'til end of July- i'm English, over here on a visa. I don't have much money so need to work out my best financial plan!!!!!
