94 protege shakes when above 75mph, is it normal?

94 protege DX, 5 sp, every time when I drive above 75 mph, I can feel the shake from the steering wheel. I wonder if it's normal for a 94 sub-compact car, or I need to do a balance or alignment, etc?

thanks for any advice.

blance ur wheels, resurface ur calipers, check brakes, or totally replace the last 2. alignment? dont hear it shaking cars too much. when balancing ur wheels, make sure they arent bent. if u've done all u can do

get someone to check out the master brake cylinder.

also check this out http://www.protegeclub.com/forum/sho...threadid=14565

if its not a bad shake, like ur car isnt dancing :D then it isnt ur brake cylinder.....

hope this helps :)

Its either tie rods or the wheels are unbalanced. It is probably the tie rods though.

It could be warped rotors, but those vibes usually occur while braking, although they can throw off wheel balance too. I would start by finding a good tire shop that has a Hunter GSP9700 balancer. Most shops don't spend the money to have one of these fine machines in their inventory, even Mazda dealerships. However, Mazda NA recommends their own service departments to send troublesome wheel-balance problems which they can't solve themselves out to a shop that has a Hunter. Click here for more info on the 9700 and where to find one.
